A day for Remembrance, Empowerment and Action
In 2014 over 8,000 women marched through Central London as part of the 7th Million Women Rise march. Its aim is to generate a critical mass of women in central London who highlight the ongoing and often unrecognised male violence against women and girls – so far this year alone 10 UK women are suspected to have been killed as a result of male violence.
“With solidarity we women of courage must rise to the challenge of fear, hatred, abuse!”
Million Women Rise 2015 is expected to be bigger than ever with thousands of women expected from across the country to join the march and rally on.
Saturday 7th March 2015
The day itself promises to be a celebration as well as a demonstration, with speakers, musicians, and artists, occupying the streets of central London as we make our way to the rally in our thousands to Trafalgar Square.
The Million Women Rise March will begin at 12pm from Duke Street (next to Selfridges) to Trafalgar Square for the 3pm rally.
We encourage women to WEAR RED… For MWR it symbolizes the colour of Woman and her blood, the blood of our sisters who have been murdered and raped , our blood which contains life, courage, respect, dignity and protection.
