Wow, 414 people have already read this article.

Refuge has joined forces with Avon, the company for women, to fight Domestic Violence. Together they can really help fight this dire issue but with your added support we can stamp it out.

Fact: Up to 2 women each week are killed in England and Wales by a current or former partner.

Did you know that children are also affected by Domestic Violence?
Unfortunately Domestic violence is caused by the abuser’s desire for power and control, and it has many incarnations: physical, emotional, financial, and psychological.

Fact: 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence at some point in her life time.

Many women in this situation are not aware of the help and support available to them. They deal with this day in day out with no rescue insight, struggling to protect themselves and their children. Let us join voices to let these women and children know that:

Domestic Violence will not be tolerated or ignored. Refuge is a safe haven where you will be cared for and supported while you get your life back on track.

Let’s make a difference to someone’s life today because tomorrow they may not be here. We cannot turn a blind eye anymore, we need to face this head on and the work that Refuge is doing has gone a long way to combating this issue.

Fact: 1 in 3 local authorities has no specialist domestic violence services for the women and children in their areas.

Together Avon and Refuge are calling for better provision for women and children experiencing domestic violence. By joining our voices and raising awareness of this issue Refuge can provide invaluable services that are giving these women and children a reason to carry on. There is a better life out there for them we just need to show them the way. Speak out against this dire situation by visiting http://www.fourwaystospeakout.com/ and lending your name to our petition – in the hope that every single woman and child can get the help they need and deserve.
