3 ways to banish cellulite FOR GOOD! Love your skin & body blog

Woman-with-celluliteWant to know some top tips to get rid of cellulite? Don’t we all!!!

Fluid retention, storage of toxins, poor muscle tone and poor circulation all worsen the appearance of cellulite. We are constantly bombarded in the media with the next wonder cream or wrap that will permanently banish the dimple effects of cellulite for good. All I can say is… don’t waste your hard earned money! Yes they may work for a short period of time but they are temporary solutions. So they are all fine and dandy if you are looking to slip into that slinky party dress for one night but for long term impacts, the key is the lifestyle choices you make every day.

It can be a simple 5 minute routine in the morning that can make a HUGE difference. Habits make or break us so why not create some cellulite blitzing habits this spring so you feel fabulous in your bikini this summer.

This is my FAVE but I think you may hate me when you first do this one!!! COLD SHOWER…EEK!!!

To begin with we need to understand why we get cellulite:

It is a build up of fat.. simple as!

If we have too many toxins in our bodies, they get stored in fat cells to protect the vital organs. If you have cellulite, it may mean that your detoxification system needs support – specifically your liver and lymphatic system, and you need to lighten your toxic load

So here are my 3 top tips that will blitz the cellulite if you turn them into habits:

1) Lighten your toxic load through ingesting less toxins in your food AND also in what you are applying to your skin.

Anything you put on your blood stream is in your body in around 16 seconds. Make sure you read your skincare and make up product labels. I know it can be confusing but if you read my previous blog on ‘detoxing your make up bag’ it will give you some insights. Eating organic, locally and in season produce will also mean you are ingesting less toxins. As will avoiding pre packaged foods. Plastic packaging can really disrupt hormones and this can cause an excess of cellulite.

2) Before showering every day, dry body brush.

It is the simplest, yet one of THE most effective things to do to stimulate your lymphatic system. Your lymphatic system carries toxins so they can be removed from the body. The problem is your lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump like your bloodstream does (ie your heart) so it needs some help to keep it moving properly. Exercise will help this but dry body brushing is one of the best ways to stimulate your lymphatic system so you can remove excess toxins. It will also boost your immune system.

3) This is my FAVE but I think you may hate me when you first do this one!!! COLD SHOWER…EEK!!!

I know it sounds like torture but I can promise you it is AMAZING once you get into the habit of doing it on a daily basis! At the end of every shower turn the heat up as high as you can bare it for 30 seconds and then turn the hot tap off and stand under the icy cold water for 30 seconds. Repeat another round of this finishing with the icy cold 30 seconds. It will leave you feeling SO alive when you get out of the shower…PLUS it will make you feel so toasty warm when you step out too!! Your skin will be buzzing and you will feel ready to take on the world. Your lymphatic system will be revved up to the max.

We are constantly bombarded in the media with the next wonder cream or wrap that will permanently banish the dimple effects of cellulite for good. All I can say is… don’t waste your hard earned money!

So who wants to do the 30 day cold shower challenge?

I started doing this over a year ago and to begin with EVERY time I got in the shower and forced myself I wanted to cry, but I took deep breaths as the cold water ran over me and now I cannot not do it! If I stay in a hotel and the water in the shower doesn’t get very cold, it ruins my day!! Honestly give it a go and see how you feel.

Cellulite is not a disease , but it is an increasingly common problem that affects more than 90 % of women in the world, and has much to do with modern environmental and hormonal factors. Contrary to what many think , is not a problem related to excess weight , as some women who are at a healthy weight , also suffer from this condition , among the main causes , there may be an inherited genetic factor of your family, it can be caused by a sedentary lifestyle , poor diet or hormonal disorder factors that cause excessive estrogen production. http://bit.ly/1L1CQgH see the video of natural treatment to eliminate cellulite .

No doubting it works. I took up cold water swimming as part of my preparation for a Channel Swim Relay. Despite eating as much as I could manage to maintain weight, fat fell off me. In 25 years of various training regimes, i have found nothing that burns fat faster than cold water immersion. And the buzz!! Unbelievable.
