With lighter mornings and evenings it finally feels like spring is just around the corner. Time to think about putting warm woolly layers and coats into storage and breaking out your spring wardrobe.

Magazines and labels are currently promoting all the new spring trends, but rather than go out to buy a whole new look, why not just add a few quick and easy additions to update your wardrobe.

Always-Stylish-Summer-Trends-2015Here is a guide to this season’s looks:

Woodstock: Referencing the 70’s is by far is the most popular trend this season, championed by both high street and designer labels alike. Ease yourself into it gently by swapping skinny jeans for a more flared style and wear with a Breton stripe jersey, or pair pretty peasant style tops with skinny jeans and a fringed tan bag. Choose an uneven hanky hem maxi dress or skirt to show off gorgeous gladiator sandals or just opt for a platform sandal to update an outfit. The key element here is individual pieces and accessories not an overall 70’s look.

Rebel: Refine rock chock for office with a leather pencil skirt, white silk blouse and court shoes or pointy ankle boots. Adding a leather jacket, a touch of animal print or a statement military/band jacket to skinny jeans updates a look from casual to edgy. Similarly studs and metal ware on pretty dresses or blouses also has the same effect.

Mad Men: Pair a pencil skirt or cigarette pants with a boxy top for a flattering silhouette that works for work and play. Try a printed full skirt with fitted top for a special occasion instead of a dress. Add a touch of gingham print in a shirt, skirt or trouser to ramp up the nostalgic effect, all with essential bright red lips.

Victoriana: An elegant yet pretty trend that feels grown-up and fresh. Lace is still key here in dresses, tops, skirts, trouser and jackets. Adding a high neck lace top with skinny jeans and ankle boots is great for an off duty look. Coloured lace shift dresses also work well for a more special occasion and can be dresses down in the day with a shirt or jumper over the top.
