The sheer cheek of the present Board of the NFWI never ceases to amaze me. For over 90 years Country Markets(formerly WI Markets) has been feeding the people of this country home baked, locally sourced produce, including jams, not the industrial made produce the WI is now trumpeting as the "nearest thing to home made". Why be satisfied with the nearest thing to home made, when you can get the real thing from a Country Market Stall in your area. Go to the Country Market Ltd. website and look for your local outlet. You will receive a warm welcome and cheery smile from our producers, and you won't have to wait hours in a supermarket queue to make your purchase.
Many of our producers are WI Members, and take a great part in running their local Institute, and are saddened by this latest commercial enterprise.

It's good to come across a blog every once in a while that isnt the same out of date rehashed information or offers. Fantastic read! Ive bookmarked your site and Im including your RSS feeds to my Google account.

That article is mostly absurd. Dandyism is not defined by what one wears, and it certainly isn't very dandyish to wear designer labels as a dandy would generally prefer bespoke tailored clothes bearing *his* name (as the client) inside. A dandy wears the clothes - the clothes don't wear him, and he would not want his clothes to be instantly recognised as being by a particular designer or brand.

What's more, Dandyism is a very deep thing. Meaning, it is spiritual, psychological and so on. It involves things like solitude, flippancy and being antiquated. Dandies are also often stoic people, yet Gary Barlow looks far from stoic in that photo.

Frankly, as a dandy myself, this article has irritated me.

Great story Gillian. I never had an experience like that. All I can confess to is having a Valentines dinner with my boyfriend at the time and was battling a bad cold and flu. I just remember having a coughing fit at the table during the main course only to have my starter present itself on its plate! You can work out the rest! X happy Valentines day all x
