De Beers to launch social campaign to honour inspirational women globally

De Beers Diamond Jewellers has launched a social campaign to galvanize women globally to honour the women who have inspired them in their day-to-day lives. The Facebook app enables users to tag women on the social network who have been an inspiration to them. The app is the latest addition to De Beers’ Moments in Light campaign, which first launched in 2014 to celebrate the talents of women who are masters of their craft. De Beers’ designs honour the light of the diamond and it is in this same vein that the Jeweller is honouring the brilliance of remarkably talented women.

Within Facebook, users are encouraged to tag the women who have inspired them in their daily lives. This can be family, friends, colleagues or even celebrities and muses. Once a user has decided which women they would like to honour a graphic is posted within Facebook and the honoree is immediately notified and encouraged to share. The app is designed to be both entertaining and inspiring.

At an event in London last month, De Beers Diamond Jewellers honoured Diana Krall, Zaha Hadid, Liya Kebede and Karen Mok for their contributions to their respective fields. While these four women have inspired many, De Beers Jewellers wants to give all women, around the world, the opportunity to honour the women that inspire them.

The evening also supported ‘Women for Women International’, an organisation that is dedicated to supporting female survivors of war zones in rebuilding their lives, giving them life skills, practical and professional qualifications.
