Introducing the speaker:

Dana Denis-Smith is a regular commentator, writer and speaker on issues covering the economic value of human capital, innovation in the professions, flexible working and the legal sector generally.

An entrepreneur, ex- lawyer and journalist, Dana founded to help City lawyers, especially parents, who were looking for flexible working opportunities in order to manage family and other personal commitments.

In 2014, Dana founded a unique history project www.first100 years- charting the journey of women in law through a video social history @first100years. And in 2015, she launched, the first online magazine dedicated to exploring flexible working in the legal sector

She was recognised, in 2015, as Outstanding Innovator by Legal Week for “constantly finding new ways” to ensure alternate means of working are accepted and helping “provide a voice of reason in a hotly debated area”. And was Finalist in the Everywoman Awards 2016.

One of 50 leading individuals recognised on Timewise Foundation’s ‘Power Part Time List of 50’, Dana was also named as one of 10 European lawyers shortlisted in the ‘Individual Legal Innovator’ category.

Dana has further been recognised for her work championing women: Brummell Magazine named her as one of 30 Inspirational Women in the City and in 2010 she was featured in Management Today magazine’s “35 Under 35” list of UK female high flyers, an annual roll call of the UK’s most inspirational businesswomen under the age of 35. has been recognised for its championing and ground-breaking work, and their innovative business model received an FT Innovative Lawyers Award 2012 and the firm was named by The Times as one of UK’s Top 50 Employers for Women in 2015 and again in 2016.
