JOIN THE WORLD’S BIGGEST COFFEE MORNING ON FRIDAY 26 SEPTEMBER
Get together over coffee and cake to make a difference…
Make time for what really matters this September by registering to host a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and help Macmillan Cancer Support raise over £20million for people affected by cancer.
At 24 years old, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is not only Macmillan’s flagship fundraiser but it is the original and most successful charity fundraising event of its sort. The idea remains simple: get together with friends, colleagues or neighbours to hold a coffee morning and raise money for Macmillan, with every donation helping us to continue providing vital services to ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.
The event started in 1990 when a local fundraising committee decided to hold a coffee morning but donated the cost of their coffee to Macmillan. The event has since grown every year and in 2013 more than 5 million people around the UK hosted or attended a coffee morning, raising a record breaking £20million. This year we need more people than ever before to get involved and raise even more money!
More than one in three of us will get cancer in our lifetime and it’s the toughest fight most of us will ever face. Macmillan provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. No one should face cancer alone, and with your support no one will.

Being a good communicator is one of the most critical skills required in business today.
Investors in companies take notice of the confidence and conviction with which someone talks about a company and its plans; bosses want clear feedback; you want the ability to stand up and talk fluently and with command when asked to do so. Competent presentation matters.
This communication skills taster takes the form of a 45 minute workshop with former BBC presenter & corporate coach Stephanie Hughes. She will cover the essential understanding of what it is to communicate effectively, in terms of both personal impact, and how to make spoken word content clear and memorable.
This will include:
- A different kind of ‘selfie’ – using film as a means of improving your communication skills.
- Energy levels: too much, too little, or just right – exploring energy levels to help to make the right impact.
- The effect of words – how much effect do they really have?
- The fine art of making a good introduction – do you talk about yourself in the best possible way?
