How do men feel about make-up, is caked on better than natural? | Men Uncovered Blog

Lipstick kiss on white backgroundTo test out this particular theory, I asked 100 men what they thought. I also observed these men when women walked past them and observed their reactions.

if you kiss a guy on the cheek who has a beard and his beard looks like a frosted cake, Yep, you guessed it, too much make up.

I won’t tease you for too long, here are the numbers. 25% of the men said that they preferred a natural look or a light amount of make up. 85% of the men, however did a double take of a woman that walked past them who had a thick layer of make up on, so ladies I’m afraid I’m none the wiser as to what most men like or want.

Make-Up amplifies a woman’s best features therefore making her appear more desirable (Good God I feel like I’m commenting on a documentary from the point of view of a scientist with no sex drive). When done in moderation it does look very good but when I see a lady walk past who has a thick layer of make up on, my brow wrinkles and my nose twitches like a rabbit (I guess you could call that disapproval). I know some of you are wondering, “How much make up is too much?”

Two examples of too much make up are, if somebody gives me a kiss on the cheek and I look in the mirror and see some chalky residue on my face. This is only OK if it has just been applied but if a few hours later, the kiss on the cheek is repeated and I still have chalky face, then it’s too much. Taking into account that I am black, yes it’s more likely to show up on my skin. The white guy alternative would be, if you kiss a guy on the cheek who has a beard and his beard looks like a frosted cake, Yep, you guessed it, too much make up.

We all know that you draw in your eyebrows and we appreciate it but when your eyebrows look shiny, bold and caked on, they don’t look “full”, they just look like Groucho Marx.

Second example of too much make-up is when a lady gives you a hug and there is a powdery patch on your shoulder. Trust me ladies it happens. The common response is for a woman to either go, “I’m so sorry”, spit on her hand and then try and dust off your shoulder. Not cool. The other reaction is to ignore it, hoping we haven’t seen it and to keep glancing at the stain every few seconds, thinking we can’t see you doing it (Yes we definitely do notice! It’s like when we look at your cleavage but try to look like we’re not, you notice that).

The other indication of too much Make-Up is the over penciling of the eyebrows. We all know that you draw in your eyebrows and we appreciate it but when your eyebrows look shiny, bold and caked on, they don’t look “full”, they just look like Groucho Marx.

Natural is nice and I personally think that my girlfriend looks lovely with no Make-up on, although she disagrees. She also looks lovely with her Make-Up on. Luckily she doesn’t splash it on so I’ve never had to have an uncomfortable conversation with her about having too much on. What do I prefer overall? Light Make-Up I guess (not on you darling, you look lovely natural…………… 🙂

  1. What about ‘natural’ eyebrows? If you’re fair like me and they’re a good shape naturally should they be left untouched?! Haven’t plucked a single one in my life, lol!

  2. Another good one to do Munir would be the whole Weave or no Weave… Applies to white girls these days too as they love them some hair extensions!
