What do you get when you challenge your scientist to create the most efficacious, and luxurious, no expense spared anti-aging formula in the world?

The answer of course, is M Lab (£50 – £600) made by Milbar laboratories who have been formulating skincare in the medical market for dermatologists and plastic surgeons for over 25 years. The products are formulated with up to 68 percent clinically active ingredients combined in an effective matrix that targets all signs of skin aging. While the 200ml Anti aging treatment cream has a price tag of £600 there is a 71ml version for £220, which is more than sufficient. A tiny bit goes a long way the results are fantastic. Once you are hooked though it might actually be more economical to buy in bulk.

Shu Eumura Phyto Black Lift (£30  – £70)is a bold new anti-aging skincare line that helps restore skins youthful beauty using ancient wisdom combined with modern scientific breakthroughs. Utilising “green chemistry” the range of formulated with Black Tea Ferment and Black Sugar Complex with Pro-XylaneTM. Which boost and protect collagen. Apart from having the sexiest packaging I’ve seen in a long time and a delicate tea and citrus fragrance my skin felt instantly firmer and was well moisturised all day.

Chantecaille Vital Essence with Arbutin (£84)is an anti oxidant formula which specifically addresses wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, dryness and thinning of the skin. Arbutin is a non-irritating skin-lightening agent that prevents the formation of erratic melanin. This combined with Retinol, Bio-Sodium Hyalurinate, Seaweed extract and other botanical ingredients ensure this is a ‘wonderfully restorative product for sensitive skin prone to the effects of sun damage’.

Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules (£58)act as cell de-stressor, breaking down the accumulation of harmful toxins that clog up the skin matrix which in turn impair it’s function and ability to absorb vital nutrients. Packaged in two separate colours the daytime/pink capsules are a blend of pure Moringa Oil and Rose Absolute, which stimulate micro-circulation at a cellular level. The night time/green capsules are Moringa Oil and Lavender Oil also helping cellular repair whilst restoring cell equilibrium. Moringa Oil, as you probably guessed, is the chief ingredient and has been used by African women for centuries for its healing and resotrative properties.

Kiehl’s Chemists Advance Abyssine Defence (£28 – £38)collection of skincare if unique in the fact that the key ingredients have been sourced from micro-organisms that dwell in hydrothermal vents in the deepest recesses of the ocean. Abyssine 657 and Venuceane, known as survival molecules, were deemed responsible for their resistance to extreme conditions and were found to “diminish the effects of aging and help sooth and protect the skin”. The mineral rich, red algae derived Corallina Extract also assists by thickening the stratum corneum and preventing moisture loss.

Dermalogica have recently released their AGE SmartTM range (19.40 – £60)a line of products that work by addressing the main biochemical reactions, which result in the signs of aging, before they occur. Using a combination of antioxidants, peptides and bioflavonoids free radicals are targeted and pigmentation and redness are reduced. Despite the complex science behind this range of natural extracts are still used and is fine for use on even the most sensitive skin.

However, if you are considering more drastic action then take a look at the non surgical and surgical procedures undertaken by the City Guinea.
