Vanessa Vallely is our founder. Having started up WeAreTheCity in 2008 on the basis to try and provide the right information and guidance to all. Vanessa has won the Champion for Women Award 2011 with WIBF.

Stewart Vallely is the co-founder of WeAreTheCity and owner of Fiddy Designs. Stewart leads the ongoing development of all of our websites. Stewart was highly commended as Dadpreneur of the Year in 2012 at the Mumpreneur Awards. Stewart comes from a design and media background originally. After studying at Manchester Business School, Stewart went into consultancy and is a chartered IT professional.

Caroline Graham is the head of WeAreTheCity India, our sister platform which supports the career development of women in India.
Having spent three years in India, Caroline has now returned to London where she works as a Director for Barclays. She is currently co-chair of Barclays gender network, WIN, is founder of Barclays WIN India and the WIN Assistants Forum, and is a member of a number of external women’s networks in London.

Layla Mullins is the Head of Business Development at WeAreTheCity. With a 14 year career in the city at both UBS and HSBC, she brings with her a wealth of industry knowledge and a huge passion for gender diversity having been the Chair of HSBC’s successful Balance Network for two years. Layla grew the UK Network from three to 25 branches during her tenure and won an Excellence in Diversity award for Outstanding Networks in 2015. Layla will be working with new and existing clients to help them strengthen their brand as a diverse employer and advising them on how they can support their female talent pipeline.

Chantelle is Head of Operations and to be perfectly honest is the oracle of all things WATC. Chantelle has been working with WeAreTheCity on and off since the day it started in 2008. Chantelle now leads the admin team based in our offices.

Leona previously worked for consulting firm, JMJ Associates. Leona joined WeAreTheCity in July and is responsible for supporting Gender Networks, WeAreTech and day to day operations. Leona is also the Personal Assistant to Vanessa Vallely where she provides executive support.

Kayleigh Bateman is the head of digital content and business development at WeAreTheCity. As a journalist there she covers stories about women in IT and looks after its women in technology community. She was previously the special projects editor for Computer Weekly and editor of CW Europe.
Kayleigh attended the University of Hertfordshire, where she studied for her BA in English literature, journalism and media cultures.

Alison is the Digital Content Editor for WeAreTheCity. She has a 2:1 BA Honours degree in Journalism and History from the University of Portsmouth. As a journalist, Alison covers a wide range of topics including covering news stories as they break. She has previously worked within the marketing and media sector. Alison’s other passions and hobbies include writing, photography and travelling.

He has written articles for Essex Chronicle Newspaper, Gay Times Magazine and has worked in the television industry for the past year.
